There’s talk in the hip hop community about a collaboration between Kendrick Lamar and J-Cole after a Instagram post by Lamar’s sister in late November.  As nme.com reports, Kayla Duckworth posted, “Go check out my brother @kendricklamar song “Black Friday” gift to you guys its definitely some fire as usual! But go listen to it you won’t regret it! Collab drops #Feb16 so be on the look out as well, and I also did a very small part in it at the end, you have to start somewhere right. #kendricklamar #JCole #Blackfriday.” After a in-depth search, we’ve realized the post was deleted. Lets just say, Duckworth spoke to soon.

Now we know the project is a work in progress, and will most likely be released sometime in February. The two award winning Hip Hop stars recently dropped a collab track titled “Black Friday”, rapping over beats off their previous albums. The social media hype was insane after Lamar and Cole teased fans with Black Friday.

The collab has also sparked question about an upcoming collaborative tour. We can only imagine sold out concert tickets, as both stars have a loyal fan base. Not only will these two continue to destroy the notion that mainstream rappers have to go against each other but Lamar and Cole will continue to make history by solidifying both their positions at the top.
